To the Class of 2013:
Being a member of Central Bucks West Choir is certainly something to be proud of. Whether you just take choir class or take part in small ensembles as well, you are sure to learn about different types of music, experience new opportunities, and be a cog in an original work of art.
The CB West Choir has traveled around the world and, in the past few years, has sung in incredible venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Basilique de Notre Dame in Montreal, Canada, and the Basilica of the National Shrine in Washington D.C. CB West Choir annually premieres pieces of music written especially for the Central Bucks West Chamber Choir by esteemed composers around the globe.
Directed by Dr. Joseph Ohrt, CB West choir offers opportunities that are truly rewarding. The time and effort put into learning a wide variety of music surely pays off when you are singing down the street in the Thanksgiving Day Parade or playing round after round of Catch Phrase on the bus rides.
Every spring, the entire West Choir packs up to go to a new destination for a 4 day trip. This highly anticipated trip is open to all members of West Choir. Past trips include a Toronto Tour, Maryland and Washington D.C. Tour, South Carolina Tour, Montreal Tour, and, this year, a Nashville Tour. Being a member of West Choir is more than singing in prominent venues and traveling the country, it is being able to individually work at something with other individuals to achieve a common goal.
West Choir is a wonderful group to be a part of when you get to West because, firstly, it alleviates the stress of other one and a half hour classes, secondly, has a valued history amongst composers whom Dr. Ohrt has excellent relationships with and who really assist in making West Choir live up to its name and, thirdly, has students in it who are there to make music and have have a great time.
